Congress Organizational Changes in CG

Raipur | March 27, 2026

Deepak Baij, the state president of the Indian National Congress in Chhattisgarh, has announced that the party’s ongoing organizational restructuring will be completed by March 31, marking a significant push to strengthen its grassroots network across the state.

According to Baij, the restructuring drive focuses on building a robust framework at every level of the party. New committees are being formed at the district, block, and village levels, ensuring that the organization remains active and responsive down to the smallest units.

“The goal is to create a strong and connected structure from top leadership to booth-level workers,” Baij stated, emphasizing that local-level engagement is critical for effective political outreach.

Party insiders say the move is part of a broader strategy to revitalize Congress’s presence in rural and semi-urban areas, where direct voter interaction plays a decisive role. By empowering local committees, the party aims to improve coordination, address regional issues more efficiently, and mobilize support ahead of upcoming political contests.

The restructuring effort is also seen as a step toward identifying new leadership at the grassroots level, giving opportunities to younger workers and strengthening internal organization.

With the March 31 deadline approaching, Congress leaders in Chhattisgarh are working at full pace to finalize appointments and ensure that the revamped structure is fully operational across the state.
